I am not sure if I will reach home again each time I undertake a long trip with my 2015 4x4 Ranger Odyssey.
* It has frustrating flat spot that Ford cannot rectify..."they are like that sir"
*The Crank monitor "snapped"...( below 10 000 km ) leaving me stranded. Had to call a recovery vehicle to get me to town. Luckily I was not in the Namib dunes far from everything.
*The dim and park lights went out at 4 occasions( trips) only to be reset later by Novel Ford Windhoek - up to the point where it cannot be reset again..."sir you'll have to replace the computer box for something like R 9500, since it can only be reset 3 times. Ford never checked why it happened. ( I must add that Ford paid for this after a struggle)
*Very very very noisy gearbox at 127000km. Removed and stripped. Main bearing almost none existing. Other bearings seemingly some wear and tear. Clutch system's condition such that replacement is advised. R 32000
This vehicle was in normal use, nothing extra ordinary or heavy stuff.
I am totally unhappy. My advice " Stay away from Ranger!! As far away as possible!!"
I hear Toyota guys nodding in agreement. I am About to replace my clutch on the Ford Ranger 3.2L 2010 model. Parts only is R36 899. Labor cost about R4500 at Ford dealer. I understand your frustrations.
